Rinnai R85i Tankless Water Heater
Called out to diagnose a problem with a Rinnai tankless water heater.. Cleaned flame sensor rod and incoming water screen. Unit would not stay lit. May arrangement to return on Monday because she had to go to work. On Monday we returned to check the gas pressure. Was told on Monday that the furnace was also now not working. Unit had been installed for a few years and had always worked fine. Found that when ever the unit would call for gas the pressure would drop down to no pressure. Took the incoming line off of the gas meter and opened the lock stop to find the gas would give a big puff and go down to nothing. There is a problem with the incoming gas line. Recommend she call Dominion gas because they would repair the service line for free.
